Keychain Logistics

May 1, 2016

Keychain Logistics is a marketplace to connect companies shipping products, with truck drivers. Keychain Logistics was founded in 2012 and went through Y Combinator (here) in it's Summer 2012 batch.

Keychain Logistics raised approximately $2.45M in funding before reaching product market fit. The company found success in the less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping market, however it struggled with the truckload (TL) market for which its original intentions were.

Ultimately Keychain Logistics shut down. The simple reason for shutting down is that the business was too early to the market. The LTL component of the business worked for a while. However, LTL providers consistently disintermediated the platform to work directly with customers.
